Hall of Fame Family!!!
.There arent many families on any sports level that can boast the accomplishments of Minor League Football's first familly. The Wiggins familly has made football their life. Mercedes Wiggins (Executive) Hall Of Fame 2004, Kim Wiggins (Coach) Hall Of Fame 2006 and Jesse Wiggins (Coach / Executive) Hall Of Fame 2006 have forever been inshrined into the history for their accomplishments. If you asked them about their hall of fame honors, amazingly all three will become very modest and be more willing to talk about the young people they have coached and whos lives that have been turned around.. To them nothing beats the joy of helping young people. Eleven years ago Hall of Famer Jesse Wiggins had a dream to provide a venue for young men 18 years of age and older to vent their aggression in a positive way on the football field. Consequently he, along with his wife Mercedes Wiggins co-founded the Knights of Miami Sports Association. Today they have two teams the Knights of Miami and the Florida Kings. This program also offers some of these young men the opportunity to continue their education. Something they are quite proud of.
Kim Wiggins Follows in her father's footsteps
.Kim watched her Dad coach for ten years. So when the opportunity came for her to become a head coach he said, "You can do this Kim", and so it began. Thanks to her Dad's knowledge and years of experience, She learned the game and it helped her be pretty effective. He taught her what it takes to be a Head Coach" said Kim Wiggins.
.. Mercedes Wiggins, Owner/GM, for the Florida Kings taught me how to be a woman in a man's arena. She has been the backbone of the Knights of Miami Sports Association and both the Knights and Kings. With her dedication, determination and prayers both teams are running successfully. My mother gives me the strength and aspirations to always strive to be the best at whatever I do. She always encourages me and never speaks negatively, always positively about everything. She is my best friend and mentor.
Our team, the Florida Kings, consists of men 18 years old and older from the southern tip of Miami. Respect is the key, I give it to them, and they give it to me. Our goal "Championship." I am so excited about this season. It is filled with so much talent it's hard to put my feelings of excitement into words. I LOVE this game.
